Estate: Double Cove, Ma On Shan

Estate Introduction: Double Cove is located at 8 Wu Kai Sha Road, developed jointly by Henderson Land Development, New World Development, and Pei Hsin Group. Situated beside Starfish Bay and Wu Kai Sha Beach, it boasts a serene environment with some units offering expansive sea views. It also features a large residents' clubhouse and is connected to the Double Cove Place shopping mall, meeting daily life needs. The estate is developed in 5 phases, comprising 21 residential towers and offering approximately 3,500 units. It primarily offers diverse layouts from 1-bedroom to 4-bedroom units, with usable areas ranging from 471 to 3,112 square feet.

Original Unit Layout: One-bedroom

Before we began, we understood the homeowner's preferences and requirements:

Increased Storage Space: Small units can easily feel cramped. The homeowner wanted to perfectly conceal all household clutter, ensuring nothing was visible.
Pursuit of Lifestyle and Ambiance: The homeowner had high standards for life's details, particularly favoring the use of lighting and light color to create spatial ambiance.

Based on the homeowner's needs, our design team focused on three core concepts: "hidden storage," "curved detailing," and "lighting ambiance." Through custom-made furniture, we not only concealed clutter seamlessly but also significantly enhanced the sense of space and luxury in the unit through the interplay of lighting and materials.

Cream Color Scheme, Handleless Design: The cabinets feature a warm cream white as the main tone, paired with a light wood-colored countertop and back panel. The low-saturation color effectively reflects light, and the invisible handle design maintains a clean and sleek facade, significantly reducing the oppressive feeling that large cabinets can create.

Large Area with Curved Edges: The bottom of the wall cabinets, corners, and edges of open sections all feature smooth, curved designs. This not only makes the space appear gentle, comfortable, and inviting, but also prevents accidental bumps and injuries.

Hollow Platform and Open Display: A spacious platform in the middle is left open to serve as an entryway cabinet or sideboard (for small appliances like coffee machines).
Below the wall cabinet, open shelves with curved shapes and glass doors are incorporated, along with LED lights, to break the monotony of enclosed cabinets.

Linear Indirect Lighting Design: Hidden LED warm yellow light strips are embedded in the bottom of the wall cabinets and inside the display shelves. The downward-projecting light creates a light and "floating" sensation.

Large Storage Space: The upper section features a floor-to-ceiling integrated cabinet. Below the beam are storage compartments, and below the platform is a shoe cabinet with adjustable shelves suitable for shoes of different heights, catering to the homeowner's various needs.

Exquisite Details:

Louvered Back Panel: The wall behind the platform uses a vertical louvered panel, and the textured variations enhance its sophistication.

Rose Gold Metal Frame and Trim: The edges of the glass doors feature an ultra-thin rose gold metal frame, clearly defining functional areas. The inlaid metal trim at the drawer seams contrasts with the wood grain, horizontally extending visual width and exuding understated luxury.

Marble Pattern Finish: The cabinet surface is finished with a white marble pattern, retaining the elegant accent without the coldness of real stone.

Hidden Cable Management System: The left side of the cabinet surface features a rectangular opening cover plate, allowing TV, router, or gaming console cables to be directly threaded into the cabinet for connection to power outlets. When not in use, the cover plate is flush with the tabletop, eliminating messy cables and maintaining a tidy living room.

Rounded Bevels and Pull-Down Cabinet Doors + Drawers: The large rounded bevels on both sides echo the overall lines of the living room, softening the visual appeal. The front features pull-down cabinet doors and drawers, offering diverse storage and convenient access to daily items.

Large Capacity Paired with a Vintage Elegant Wardrobe

Arch Elements and Reeded Glass: The wardrobe doors incorporate arch designs and reeded glass, injecting a vintage and elegant touch into the simple cabinet body, while also accentuating the plain door surfaces.
Vertical Storage System: The left side of the wardrobe features pull-out open shelves, specifically designed for frequently used skincare products, perfumes, or daily necessities. This saves desktop space and allows easy access to items even at the deepest part.

Tiered Mobile Dressing Table

The dressing table is specially designed to be movable, allowing it to retract towards the wardrobe, freeing up space by the bed and blurring the boundary between the bed and the aisle.

Lower Section: The part closer to the headboard is shorter, serving as a bedside table for easy placement of phones, water glasses, etc.
Higher Section: The extended tabletop height is suitable for use as a dressing table or a workstation.

This staggered design breaks the monotony of a long tabletop, creating a more layered visual effect.

Hidden Mobile Storage Cabinet

On the right side beneath the dressing table, a mobile side cabinet with wheels is cleverly hidden:

Maximum Space Utilization: Normally stored beneath the side cabinet, its appearance is flush with the overall cabinetry, maintaining a visually tidy look.
Flexible and Versatile: Hidden beneath the side cabinet, it frees up more legroom. It can also be easily pulled out when needed.

Bed Frame: Electric Hydraulic Bed with Headboard Storage and LED Lighting

The bed features an electric hydraulic design, which is more effortless than manual hydraulic lifting, making it convenient for the female homeowner to use, and provides ample storage space. An LED warm light strip is installed in the headboard back panel. This "light without seeing the lamp" design provides soft indirect lighting, which not only creates a warm ambiance but also increases the sense of depth in the space, making the visual space more cohesive.
